Diónysos 11
Vinseum
Dionysos is a magazine on wine culture published by the Vinseum, the Museum of Wine Cultures of Catalonia. The magazine comes out twice a year and is printed entirely in black and white. Each issue focuses on a particular theme, and the cover and title typography vary to reflect the general concept. In each successive issue we’ve made small improvements to the point size, column width, design of notes, and other aspects of the presentation. The scope of the project has expanded as our studio has grown, and the magazine is one of our flagship projects. The theme of issue 11 was micros and macros. Conceptually, we decided to reduce the elements as much as possible (micro) to magnify their importance (macro). Based on this principle, we used just one ink, a single typography, three point sizes, and two page structures, and minimised the use of glue in the binding.
