L’Arrel is a biannual newsletter published by the Unitat Popular Candidates Group (CUP) of Vilafranca del Penedès. We treated the publication as a newspaper to more effectively reach all households in Vilafranca. The idea behind the design was to distance the discourse from stereotypes associated with groups with a revolutionary and punk aesthetic. This special issue was distributed to every home in Vilafranca del Penedès following a motion of censure against the party that had governed in the town council for 30 years.
